Mr Mac
It has been a fantastic first term in Fox class. We have had plenty of exciting topics, in which we have learnt: the surrounding area of Chichester; the Gun Powder Plot; and the Christmas Story. Alongside all of this we have also enjoyed an outside learning day, as well as visiting St. Peters church for a christingle service.
In the surrounding area of Chichester we have been on trips to visit the Chichester Cross, Chichester Cathedral and we have also looked at the history of Lancastrian school. The class were interested to learn about the history of the cathedral and to hear all the stories from the cathedral staff.
During the Gun Powder Plot topic we have enjoyed looking at the life of Guy Fawkes and his role in the Gun Powder Plot. We have had a chance to re-enact the Gun Powder Plot, as well as recreating our very own houses of parliament. The class really enjoyed being able to show their creativity when making the houses of parliament.
Our final topic of the Christmas story, was based on the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We looked in depth at the story and joined with Owl class to perform the Christmas show. I'm sure you'll agree that they did a fantastic job in the Christmas performance!
In the last week of term we had the pleasure of visiting St. Peters church for a christingle service, where the children were able to make their own christingles. The children were fascinated learning about what makes a christingle and what they represent. Also in the last week, Fox class were lucky enough to be visited by Santa, and the children had the opportunity to ask their very own questions to Santa himself!
