The admission policy of West Sussex is outlined in the booklet “Information for Parents” which is published by the Education Authority. This can be accessed on the West Sussex County Council website admissions information page.
Schools in West Sussex are categorised as community, voluntary controlled and voluntary aided. Community and voluntary controlled schools serve catchment areas. Lancastrian Infant School is a community school.
Parents are very welcome to visit the school. Please make an appointment at the school office on the telephone number 01243 782818. During the autumn term, we hold two Open Afternoons for prospective new parents to visit the school and to have a guided tour by one of our older children. Mrs Zoe Gordon, the Headteacher, is happy to answer any questions that parents have. We can also make appointments at other times if these are not convenient.
Lancastrian Infant school Admission Policy is as follows: ‘Pupils start school in the September following their fourth birthday. Parents have the right to choose whether their child starts full or part-time but they must be in full-time education in the term following their fifth birthday. This is negotiated with the parent and the school based on the needs of the child.
